PSJA North Early College High School Mariachi earns First Division at State, PSJA ECHS soloist wins Outstanding Performer Medal

PHARR – The PSJA North Early College High School Mariachi group earned First Division at the UIL State Mariachi Festival held June 18-29 in Seguin, Texas

In addition to PSJA North ECHS, Stephanie Garcia from PSJA Early College High School in San Juan earned a UIL State Outstanding Performer Medal.

“We congratulate all the students and their directors for earning this State-level recognition,” said PSJA Superintendent Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo. “Thank you for representing our district at such a high level!”

The students were recently honored for this achievement by the PSJA School Board. They were joined by their Directors Eddie and Mary Echeverria, and Dolores Bartolo from PSJA North and Adriana Olivan, Albert Garcia and Steve Gutierrez from PSJA Early College High School. 

At PSJA ISD, all students can participate in the following superior music programs: Band, Orchestra, Choir, Jazz Band and Mariachi.  

As an open enrollment school district, PSJA ISD accepts students living anywhere in the Rio Grande Valley. Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is still open. To register, parents can visit www.psjaisd.us/register
