PHARR, Texas – The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) hosted its 4th Annual Tradiciones Mexicanas in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month on September 29, 2025, at the PSJA Stadium.
The annual concert, organized by the PSJA Fine Arts Department, brought together hundreds of student performers who showcased their rich multicultural heritage through music and dance.

For PSJA T. Jefferson T-STEM Early College High School student Jazlyn Torres, participating in the Tradiciones Mexicanas event was a meaningful experience.
“This event allowed us to celebrate and share our culture with the community,” said Torres. “Events like this help bring us together, honor our traditions, and give us the chance to showcase our talents while connecting with our PSJA family.”
Families and community members in attendance enjoyed an evening of live performances from PSJA ISD high school Mariachi, Folklorico, and Conjunto ensembles. Adding to the celebration, the parent-led Folklorico group Nuestra Raíces, formed through the PSJA Community Engagement Program, also took the stage with a special performance, highlighting strong family and community spirit.

“We are so proud of the students and appreciate all of the support,” said PSJA Fine Arts Director Jon Taylor. “We have hundreds of community members here, and we have a lot of people watching from home. We are just so proud of these students and their talents.”
By offering a high-quality fine arts education, PSJA ISD ensures that students have the opportunity to explore and cultivate their passion in art, dance, music, and theatre.
