PHARR – Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD’s high schools are ranked among the top 500 in the State of Texas and in the Nation, according to the 2020 US News & World Report, with PSJA T. Jefferson T-STEM Early College High School ranked among the top 100. The ranking is based on the school’s Advanced Placement (AP) participation rate.
The U.S. News & World Report ranks schools based on their performance in state-required tests and how well students are prepared for college. U.S. News ranked approximately 17,790 public high schools, out of a review of more than 24,000 in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Through PSJA ISD’s Early College initiative, high school students are able to graduate with up to 60 college hours or an Associate Degree from higher education partner South Texas College before their high school graduation.

The U.S. News & World Report ranks high schools based on six factors: College Readiness, Math & Reading Proficiency, Math & Reading Performance, Undeserved Student Performance, College Curriculum, and Graduation Rate.
