PHARR, Texas – The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) Communications team received numerous State awards from the Texas School of Public Relations (TSPRA) for outstanding work in School Public Relations, Video, Marketing, Graphic Design, and more. The awards were announced during TSPRA’s Annual Star Awards Ceremony held on February 28, 2024, in Sugar Land, Texas.
The Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) is a professional organization dedicated to improving public education in Texas through promoting effective public relations practices, providing professional development, and improving communication between Texans and their public schools. TSPRA recognizes communicators in school districts, education foundations, education associations, and organizations for their work in print, video, and electronic media categories annually during their Star Awards ceremony.
The TSPRA Star Awards recognizes work in over 40 categories covering various media such as social media campaigns, newsletters, special events, programs, posters, videos, electronic presentations, logos, and image/identity packages to name a few.
Of thousands of entries received from public school districts across Texas, the PSJA Communications Department earned a Crystal Certificate of Merit, Best of Category Medal, seven Gold Star Awards, one Silver, and two Bronze.

Additionally, Video Production Lead Marco Vasquez was presented with the Professional Achievement Award which honors individuals who have exhibited a creative, dedicated, and professional approach to school communications. Vasquez has dedicated over 25 years serving PSJA ISD.
The PSJA ISD Communications team is comprised of numerous staff members and is led by PSJA Communications & Marketing Director Claudia Lemus Campos, APR under the direction of PSJA Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alejandro Elias.
