At the second annual “College For All” conference hosted by the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (PSJA) Independent School District, recent PSJA graduates closed the conference by sharing their success stories in a panel discussion. Alumni described their experiences and shared the attributes characterized by their experience as PSJA students which have contributed to their individual and collective successes, such as being innovative, passionate, professional, and impactful. One of the alums, Cecilia Corral of South Pharr/Las Milpas and graduate of PSJA High School and Stanford University, co-founded a technology company, CareMessage, which utilizes a mobile phone application and related software to provide information, support, and reminders for patients. CareMessageTM is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that empowers healthcare organizations with mobile technologies to improve health literacy and self-health management while fostering more efficient care delivery.Â
