PHARR – Two PSJA ISD athletes signed a letter of intent to continue playing their sport during a special ceremony at their respective schools, Wednesday, Nov. 14.
At PSJA Southwest Early College High School, Shot Put Thrower Diego Trevino signed with the University of Oklahoma to join their Track & Field Team. Diego holds the PSJA All-Time Shot Put Record and has represented PSJA Southwest ECHS at the UIL State Championships and Junior Olympic National Championships twice. He is one of the top-ranked Shot Put throwers in the country and was heavily recruited by UT, A&M, Mizzou, UH, and NDSU, just to name a few.
At PSJA North Early College High School, Baseball player Pedro Damian Rodriguez signed with Texas A&M Kingsville. Pedro Damian has excelled in the sport for the last three years playing varsity. He has received the Team Leadership, Pitcher of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, MVP awards and was Texas Select All-Star Game MVP for the West Team. He will be graduating from high school with over 30 college hours and plans to major in Business Administration while at TAMUK.
