The McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Dos Rios Fabrics, Mary Kay Cosmetics invite you to attend Project Runway RGV this Thursday, September 28 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Valencia Event Center. Project Runway Designers Rose Coronado, Carmen Sanchez, Dinora Alvarado, Delfina Rios and Lionel Campbell, Jr. will be competing to be named the best designer in the RGV. The young ladies who will model their creations are Jacqulyn Knee-Martinez, Jessica Nicole Martinez, Anahi De La Garza, Nadia Rodriguez, and Alyssa Yarritu. This event was organized to raise money for cancer research and for the Chamber’s entrepreneurial programs.
This past Wednesday, as part of Project Runway, ladies who have gone through or are undergoing cancer treatment were honored at The Dry Room, in McAllen. This year, the honorees are Shirley Arnold, Karen Garza, Brenda Gonzalez, Meldi Pro Martinez, Elsa Ramos, Susie Salinas, Diana Garza, Veronica Bishop and Esmer Sanchez. Honorees were treated to a Day of Honor beginning with a morning at The Dry Room to enjoy a makeover, hairstyle or a manicure before they were off to Dillard’s for their Fashion Show fittings. Moments with our honorees were captured by their personal photographer Bryan Hinojosa of UrCapturedMemories.
The ladies will model their new fashions at Project Runway RGV this Thursday at the Valencia Event Center. Last, the honorees were treated to a luncheon by Europa Cuisine at the Old Church Winery and had their portraits taken by Garmendia Photography.
Project Runway/Day of Honor 2017 Official Glam Team, which includes Makeup Artists Rebecca Cantu, Gil Covarrubia, Yvette Hinojosa, Anna Lopez, and Magaly Mares and hairstylists Rachel Acosta, Karina Munoz, Stephani Salinas, Ruby Salinas and Mayra Perez will be joining their talents to this year’s event. The Glam Team will complete the vision of our designers by creating a unique look.
