Harlingen Chamber welcomes Hammond to the Valley

HARLINGEN, Texas –Bill Hammond, President of Texas Association of Business will be the keynote speaker for the Harlingen Chamber of Commerce’s Public Affairs Luncheon on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hammond will give an overview of the 84th Legislative Session and how changes will be affecting businesses across Texas.
The luncheon will take place at the Harlingen Community Center.
Bill Hammond has led the state’s most influential business and chamber organization since April 1998.
He served four-terms in the Texas House of Representatives during the 1980s where he successfully authored the Texas Education Agency Sunset Bill, and was named one of the state’s top ten legislators by Texas Monthly and Dallas Morning News.
Texas Monthly named Hammond one of the top 25 most powerful people in Texas politics in 2011. Campaign & Politics magazine recognized Hammond in 2010 as one of the state’s Top 10 Most Influential Figures in Politics and Government.
