Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Constable Lazaro “Larry” Gallardo Jr. was honored in court for serving as President of the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) and was commended for his hard work and dedication on behalf of Hidalgo County and the 254 counties in Texas.

District Clerk Laura Hinojosa sponsored the resolution on his behalf.

“We are here to honor Larry Gallardo who was the first Hispanic officially elected to this position in TAC’s history,” said Hinojosa. “We are very proud of his service and for representing Hidalgo County with great professionalism.”

During his two-year term, Gallardo guided the organization through a period of growth and change.

“A lot of people don’t know what counties provide,” said Gallardo. “Every elected official plays a part in county government, and as a group, we educate people on our services, and make decisions based on what is best for all counties across Texas.”
