Just about three weeks ago, I met with Luis Yzaguirre at this site, which was then just plain dirt with a couple of pipes here and there. Fast forward to now, and three weeks later, we already have a building structure that will house Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse. We’re excited that they’re moving pretty fast, contributing to our economic vitality here in Pharr. This is the first location in Hidalgo County for Parry’s Pizzeria, and we can’t wait to see it completed.

Before we proceed, I would like to welcome Mr. Victor Perez to share a couple of remarks on behalf of the City of Pharr.

Mr. Perez highlighted the support of the city and the Pharr EDC towards new businesses. He expressed his excitement about the new addition to the city’s dining options and welcomed Parry’s Pizzeria to Pharr.

Following Mr. Perez’s remarks, Mr. Tony Bloomfield, regional partner for Parry’s Pizzeria, expressed his gratitude and excitement about growing in the Rio Grande Valley. He explained how Parry’s Pizzeria carefully selects managing partners from the communities they open in and introduced Luis Yzaguirre, the managing partner for the Pharr location.

Mr. Yzaguirre, a native of the Valley, expressed his excitement about giving back to the community that supported him. He introduced his team and outlined the company’s plans for the new location.

Beyond bringing a tempting taste of New York-style pizza to the city, Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse is also set to impact the local economy of Pharr significantly. With plans to hire about 150 employees for their new location, this ambitious venture is set to be more than just a pizzeria; it is an employment hub poised to offer a myriad of opportunities to the local community.

The job openings will span various roles, from entry-level positions to management, providing a wide array of career opportunities for residents in and around Pharr. These employment opportunities will not only stimulate the local economy but also contribute to lowering unemployment rates in the region.

Yzaguirre, the Managing Partner and Investor with Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse is leading the charge. Being a local himself, Yzaguirre is aware of the importance of offering locals jobs, which strengthens community ties and contributes to the growth and development of Pharr.

In addition to boosting the local economy through job creation, Yzaguirre hopes to give back to the community that has supported him throughout his life. This commitment to community and economic growth sets Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse apart and underscores their commitment to being more than just a dining establishment.

The hiring process has already begun, with key positions already filled. Yari Saldivar will lead the kitchen; the Service Manager and Bar Manager roles have been assigned to Hugo Mendez, and Kelly Lopez will be assisting as the Assistant Kitchen Manager.

As Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse prepares for its grand opening in Pharr, the company remains committed to positively impacting the community both economically and socially. Their investment in the region is expected to lead to more businesses considering Pharr a viable and attractive location for their operations.

Overall, the opening of Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse in Pharr isn’t just about great food and drink – it’s a sign of growing regional economic vitality. By hiring about 150 employees, they are directly investing in the community, a move that shows the strength of their commitment to the city and the people of Pharr. This exciting development is one of many reasons why the community eagerly awaits the grand opening of Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse.

Parry’s Pizzeria, a classic New York-style pizzeria founded in 2007, has evolved into an all-encompassing dining spectacle known for its craft beer and inviting ambiance. They’ve seen steady expansion beyond Colorado since 2020, spreading their distinctive style and flavors to the Dallas suburbs, San Antonio, Lubbock, and, most recently, Brownsville. The company’s plans for 2023 include opening more Texas branches, with Pharr topping the list. The city of Pharr welcomes Parry’s Pizzeria and Taphouse, marking another milestone in the growth of the City and Hidalgo County.

The groundbreaking ceremony concluded with a token of appreciation presented to Parry’s Pizzeria team, symbolizing the city’s support and eagerness for their success.
