Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D., and the Pharr City Commission approved a proclamation declaring February 18-24, 2024 as National Engineers Week. Engineering is at the forefront of innovation and is instrumental in designing and creating the solutions that are shaping the world of tomorrow. Engineers build the foundation for progress and development and contribute greatly to society by turning ideas into reality.
This year’s theme “Welcome to the Future” is about celebrating today’s achievements and paving the way for a brighter and more diverse future in engineering.
Ruben Alfaro, City Engineer, and members of his staff from the Engineering Department including Maria Rangel, Moises Beas, Mike Gonzales, Tony Padron, Miranda Garcia, and Joe Portillo accepted the proclamation and were recognized by the city commission. Mr Alfaro announced during the recognition that in 2024, ” we are going to have construction beginning for more than $150 million in projects that our engineering team will be overseeing and implementing.” Thank you to our City of Pharr Engineering Department for your excellent work!
