Pharr, TX – The Pharr Economic Development Corporation and Pharr Greater Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the RGV Partnership, the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Workforce Solutions, will be hosting the Governor’s Small Business Forum on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at the Boggus Ford Events Center (3000 North Cage) in Pharr from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The forum will feature a wide range of seminars and speakers who will offer vital information to small businesses on both public and private resources. This event will be a great opportunity to network and connect with industry specialists, government officials, service providers and other regional businesses. Julian Alvarez, TWC Commissioner Representing Labor and Lower Rio Grande Valley Workforce Solutions representatives will be in attendance providing information to educate local entrepreneurs and small business owners on workforce development strategies, such as: hiring and managing practices, employee training, business marketing, and identifying growth opportunities. Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. will be delivering welcome remarks at the luncheon beginning at noon. This will mark the eighth Governor’s Small Business Forum held throughout the state. These forums are designed to support the more than 480,000 Texas employers who employ 100 or fewer workers. |
