Pharr, Texas – In the spirit of the season of giving, Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. is launching his “Pay it Forward” initiative. Mayor Hernandez will be delivering a Christmas surprise to families in Pharr that have been identified as being able to use a little extra kindness this holiday season. Benefiting families were identified by school district representatives from PSJA ISD, Hidalgo ISD, Valley View ISD, IDEA Public Schools, Vanguard Academy, and the Pharr Oratory of St. Philip Neri School System; families will be gifted $500 to be used for their Christmas expenses, in addition to other gifts.
The distribution tour will travel in a caravan to the families’ homes from 3 pm to 5 pm TOMORROW, Thursday, December 20, 2018. School representatives will join Mayor Hernandez for the distribution of the surprise gifts to families. The tour will commence at 3 pm at the Pharr Economic Development Corporation (1215 S. Cage Blvd. in Pharr).
