Pharr, Texas – Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. and the City Commission understand the importance of the trucking industry to Pharr’s economy and recognize all truck drivers for their hard work during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, which takes place September 9-15, 2018. This is a time when America honors all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy’s most demanding and vital jobs. Pharr thanks the 3.5 million professional men and women who not only deliver our goods safely, securely and on time, they also keep our highways safe.
To celebrate Truck Driver Appreciation Week and to show its appreciation for truckers that cross through its international port of entry on a regular basis, the Pharr International Bridge will be gifting truckers with new logo trucking caps.
“This cap is but a small token of gratitude and appreciation for the truck drivers that work so hard to keep our communities flourishing,” said Pharr International Bridge Director Luis Bazan. “We want our trucking partners to know that here at the Pharr International Bridge, we appreciate the work they do to keep our economy moving,” he continued.
Later this month, the City of Pharr, the Pharr EDC and Greater Pharr Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting the first trucking industry expo in this region — Pharr International Trucking Expo on Saturday, September 29, 2018, 9 am – 7 pm at the Pharr Events Center.
“On behalf of Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D., the Pharr City Commission, the Pharr International Bridge Board, we thank all truckers for their valuable contributions to our economy, and we encourage all trucking industry partners and representatives to attend the trucking expo this month,” Bazan continued.
