Pharr, Texas – The Pharr Economic Development Corporation and Workforce Solutions have once again partnered to host the 6th Annual Statewide Red, White and You! Job Fair. A variety of employers from different industries will be on site in search of local, talented individuals to fill available positions. The job fair will open to Veterans first, starting at 9 am and will open to the general public at 10 am on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Boggus Ford Events Center (3000 N. Cage in Pharr).
“We are proud to continue partnering with Workforce Solutions and industry partners to promote opportunities for employment success for our Veterans and area residents,” said Pharr Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Victor Perez. “This job fair will help bring together local businesses and our region’s skilled workforce to positively impact our economic vitality,” Perez continued.
Over 50 employers from Pharr and the region will be on hand to discuss job openings, the application process, benefits, and even interview prospective employees for their respective companies. Representatives from industries including government, healthcare, banking, retail, education, food services, and more, are eager to meet with interested job seekers.
Admission is FREE and open to the public. Interested attendees should dress professionally, come prepared with copies of their resumes, and be ready for possible on-the-spot interviews! With a focus on Veterans, this event is designed to connect employers seeking qualified candidates with Texas Veterans, transitioning service members and their family seeking employment opportunities. According to Workforce Solutions, it is estimated that there are 927,000 veterans in Texas who are eligible for work. By holding Red, White and You! Job Fairs across the state, Texas employers can more easily connect to this highly qualified group of service members.
