Pharr students looking to further their education now can apply for the Pharr EDC Foundation Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. Victor Perez, President of the Pharr EDC Foundation and President/CEO of the Pharr EDC, has announced that applications are officially open, offering local students a chance to receive financial support for their higher education journey.
“I encourage all eligible students to apply for this opportunity. Education is a key driver of success, and we are committed to investing in our future leaders,” said Perez. In addition to urging students to take advantage of the scholarship, he also invited local businesses and community members to contribute to the cause by participating in the foundation’s annual Casino Night fundraiser. “Your contributions directly impact students’ lives by providing essential financial assistance for their education,” he added.
Perez emphasized the importance of collective support in empowering Pharr’s students, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed. “Apply today or support the cause—let’s invest in the future of Pharr,” he urged.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet several eligibility criteria. They must be a resident of Pharr or attend school in the city, be a high school senior graduating in the 2024-2025 academic year, maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, and be enrolled as a full-time student. Additionally, applicants must have completed at least 15 hours of community service or an internship in Pharr.
A completed application, along with an essay or personal statement and required documents, must be submitted no later than Friday, March 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
