The Pharr City Commission has approved an ordinance adopting the budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2024, and ending September 30, 2025. This new budget reflects a total increase in property taxes of $1,513,223, or 4.27%, compared to the previous year. Of this increase, $822,125 is derived from new property added to the tax roll. “We are proud to present a budget that not only projects a $10.9 million surplus to be reinvested into our reserve funds but also includes raises for all city staff—achieved without additional cost to taxpayers,” said City Manager Dr. Jonathan B. Flores.
