STARR COUNTY, Texas – Starr County Industrial Foundation (SCIF) along with Starr Camargo Bridge Company and Border Pacific Railroad donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to local government frontline workers that included over 1000 N95 masks, face shields and clinical gowns.
Employers in all sectors may experience shortages of PPE, including gowns, face shields, face masks, and respirators, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gloves, gowns, face masks and N95 respirators are all important for protecting healthcare workers and other employees who are on the frontline battling the fast-spreading, infectious disease.
“With PPE shortages across the nation, we wanted to our part to ensure that we provided proper protection for our local community first responders, including healthcare workers and local law enforcement,” said SCIF President, Rose Benavidez.
SCIF delivered gowns and masks to the Starr County Memorial Hospital, County of Starr, City of Roma, City of Rio Grande City, City of Escobares, City of La Grulla and our mental health specialist at Border Region Behavioral Center.
