Texas Border Business
Auditions for six youthful, fun characters, to be held April 1-2, on zoom, for PCT’s next production, a semi-musical comedy called Bird Brains. The play was written by PCT’s artistic director, Pedro Garcia, and is about Fernando, a great Kiskadee who lives in the beautiful RGV. He’s upset because the girl he loves only wants to be friends, therefore he wants to fly away to Spain and due to his stubbornness at first. Since his species can’t fly across the ocean without stopping for rest, it would be disastrous. Now his friends Chispita, a buffed bellied humming bird and Wanda, a north American mocking bird, the latter visiting from Arkansas, have to stop him.
The other three characters are a ballerina fairy, an ornithologist and a bird watcher.
Auditions are on a first come first serve basis for kids ages 12 to 17 and will be held on zoom on April 1 and 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For a singing role please prepare to sing at least 30 seconds of your preferred song in either English or Spanish, with or without musical accompaniment, and you will read a few lines from the script as well.
First 20 to log into the zoom meeting will be auditioned, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 pm in the order logged in, on either April 1 or April 2. Here’s the zoom invite link:
