WESLACO – One week after the Weslaco High School Lady Panthers triumphed in a monumental come-from-behind victory to emerge as the Division 6A State Softball Champions, the City of Weslaco and Hidalgo County Precinct 1, under the leadership of Mayor Adrian Gonzalez and Commissioner David Fuentes, are hosting a grand parade this Saturday at 9 a.m.
The parade will honor the Lady Panthers’ incredible dedication and hard work throughout the season. It will commence at the intersection of Pike and Texas Boulevards and conclude at 6th Street and Texas Boulevard — showcasing our champions to the entire community.
Following the parade, media availability will take place at the First Baptist Church, at 600 S. Kansas Avenue, our unification site. This is a fantastic opportunity to capture historic reflections on this remarkable journey.
“We invite the entire community to join us in celebrating this outstanding and historic achievement,” said Fuentes. “Let’s come together to support and cheer for our Lady Panthers.”
