EDINBURG, Texas – For a decade, the Laurie P. Andrews Center has stood as a lifeline for thousands of animals across the Rio Grande Valley. On Thursday, April 30 at 12:00 PM, Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) invites the community and media to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this transformative facility, and to look ahead at what comes next.
Since opening its doors in 2016, the Laurie P. Andrews Center has helped reshape animal welfare in the region. What began as a bold step forward has grown into a hub of lifesaving programs, supporting thousands of adoptions each year, expanding access to low-cost veterinary care, and launching critical initiatives like community spay and neuter clinics that reduce pet overpopulation at its source.
Now, ten years later, PVAS is preparing for its next chapter.
During the event, Executive Director, Suzette Cruz will deliver a major announcement outlining the organization’s vision for the future, building on the foundation that the Laurie P. Andrews Center has created.
Guests will also be invited to take part in a guided tour of the facility, offering a behind-the-scenes look at daily operations, ongoing improvements, and the evolving role the center will play in serving both animals and the community in the years ahead.
As PVAS reflects on ten years of progress, this event serves as both a celebration and a turning point, honoring the past while setting the stage for a future where even more lives can be saved.
