Yesterday evening, RGV agents with the assistance of Texas Rangers, received information of two houses located in La Casitas, Texas, possibly being used for illegal activities.  Upon arrival, at the first location, authorities discovered two bundles of marijuana.   As agents and Texas Rangers moved toward the second location, they observed two subjects attempting to abscond into the brush.

After a thorough search, the subjects were apprehended.  A search of the property resulted in the discovery of several boxes of assault rifles (AR-15’s), handguns, ammunition, and 14 bundles of marijuana.  All subjects, narcotics, firearms, and ammunition were transported to the Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station for processing.  The marijuana weighed more than 95 pounds and is valued at over $76k.

Yesterday afternoon, agents assigned to RGC, discovered six bundles of marijuana abandoned in the brush near La Grulla, Texas, in two separate events.  The marijuana from the two seizures weighed approximately 300 pounds and is worth more than $240K.
