EDINBURG, Texas – More than 180 PSJA ISD seniors walked the stage at South Texas College’s Fall Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at the Bert Ogden Arena, where they were recognized as Prospective Graduates for an Associate Degree or College Certificate. This achievement comes months before they receive their high school diplomas in May 2026.

As part of PSJA ISD’s nationally recognized wall-to-wall Early College Program in partnership with South Texas College, seniors from across the district walked the stage to celebrate their accomplishment. Approximately 91 students completed Associate Degrees, while 91 earned Industry-Level Certifications in high-demand workforce pathways through the PSJA Academies, expanding their future opportunities in both higher education and the workforce.

These accomplishments highlight PSJA ISD’s continued commitment to ensuring all students have access to high-quality, college courses while still in high school. Through strong partnerships with STC and other higher education institutions, PSJA students receive the support, preparation, and resources needed to excel.

“Our students continue to show tremendous dedication and perseverance, and we could not be prouder of what they have accomplished,” said PSJA ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alejandro Elias. “These achievements reflect the hard work of our students and the support of our teachers, counselors, and Early College teams who guide them every step of the way. This is what we mean when we say Opportunities for All.”

“I spent many of my summers taking college-level courses, and while it wasn’t always easy, it was absolutely worth it,” said PSJA Collegiate School of Health Professions senior Kayla Padilla. “Earning my Associate Degree in Biology before even graduating high school is something I’m proud of. All the late nights, early mornings, and hard work finally paid off, and I’m grateful for the opportunities PSJA has given me to get ahead in my future.”
