Brownsville, TX — October 17, 2024 — Origo Works, a leading real estate development firm committed to enhancing communities through innovative projects, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Murad Abusalim as its new Director of Design. With over 25 years of experience in architecture, urban planning, and sustainable community development, Dr. Abusalim brings a wealth of expertise to Origo Works.

Dr. Abusalim’s impressive career includes notable leadership roles at Texas Southmost College (TSC) and the University of Texas Brownsville (UTB). In these roles, he launched successful academic and technical programs. He focuses on developing sustainable housing and community planning, both domestically and internationally. His work emphasizes mixed-use developments and sustainable housing solutions.

Dr. Abusalim co-designed the first LEED Silver home south of San Antonio, featured in the 2013 TEDx Brownsville event. His work is highly regarded in the architectural community, and he demonstrates his passion for community engagement through his ongoing service on various boards and committees, including the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) and the Brownsville Wellness Coalition (BWC).

Dr. Abusalim holds a Ph.D. in Land-Use Planning and Management Design and a Master of Science in Architecture from Texas Tech University. He also earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Near East University in Turkey. His design philosophy emphasizes sustainability and careful planning, considering societal and environmental impacts in every project.
