ALAMO, Texas – Operation Christmas RGV is continuing its efforts to collect school supplies to bless families who are struggling to make ends meet. This collection is an effort that President Emanuel Martinez highlights is as important as giving a child a gift during the Christmas season. Martinez also continues stating that education is a milestone that we must all work towards so we can develop the leaders of tomorrow. Eight locations across the RGV have been assigned so that the community who is interested in donating can do so. This will all culminate with a distribution event that is tentatively planned for August 19th, 2023.
Operation Christmas RGV has a goal of blessing at least 100 families this back-to-school season. Items that can be donated are packs of pens, packs of pencils, notebooks, backpacks, and other back to school supplies that are essential to the success of our RGV students.
Operation Christmas RGV is also calling on local businesses to join arms with them and make this event a success, as businesses have already done, like Raising Canes in Pharr who have donated school supplies to this great initiative.
