Inspired by his grandmother Donna Shawhan, who works as a marketing director at Payne Auto Group, Trevor Huddleston discovered a passion for marketing at an early age. Now 21, he is pursuing a degree in Marketing with hopes of joining the sports industry.
“My grandma’s job has always fascinated me. Seeing her excel in her role made me realize how impactful and creative marketing can be,” Huddleston said.
His journey at STC started with a recommendation from his mother, but what kept him there was the environment.
“At first, I did choose STC because it was convenient, but the atmosphere and the positive attitude of everyone I’ve met, has made me like the college even more,” Huddleston said.
With only one year left until graduation, Huddleston is focused on making the most of his time at STC.
Through STC’s Marketing program, Huddleston is taking classes such as advertising and sales, public relations, principles of economics and e-commerce marketing.
Outside of the classroom, Huddleston finds a unique way to stay active with boxing.
“It’s just a fun way to exercise and keep in shape,” Huddleston shared.
Coming from a family with strong ties to education, Huddleston said his family connections to STC strengthens his motivation to succeed. His brother also graduated from STC with a degree in Computer Science and now works as a teacher at BL Gray Middle School.
With dreams of entering the sports marketing field, Huddleston hopes to combine his passion for sports with the foundation in marketing he has obtained at STC, to build a successful career.
