Edinburg, Tx (October 3, 2017) One of every five students reports being bullied during the school year. Online, the percentage of individuals who have experienced cyberbullying has nearly doubled over the past decade. Bullying can cause anxiety and apprehension, impacting kid’s education, health, and safety. That is why Boys &Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV observes October as National Bullying Prevention Month.
Throughout the month, the Club will conduct activities, hold presentations that educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention and encourage Club members to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Kicking off the month with STOMP Out Bullying’s™ BLUE SHIRT DAY® WORLD DAY OF BULLYING PREVENTION™ on October 2nd each staff member wore blue symbolizing peace and signifying the importance of National Bullying Prevention Awareness month.
