Commissioners Court proclaimed November as National Home Care and Hospice Month in honor of the millions of nurses, home care aides, therapists, and social workers who make a remarkable difference for the patients and families they serve.
Texas Association for Home Care and Hospice Board President Jon Scepanski, accepted the proclamation.
“We help the elderly and disabled preserve their dignity and maintain their independence while receiving care in a home setting,” said Scepanski.
In addition, an awareness campaign is conducted to highlight home care and hospice as alternatives to hospitalization and other forms of institutional health care.
Home care and hospice professionals help their patients live every day to its fullest, and it is important for their commitment and skill to be recognized and commended.
The court commends the Texas Association for Home Care and Hospice for the work they do to help families and encourages the support and participation of all citizens in learning more about home care and hospice.
