Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents disrupted three human smuggling events and encountered two large groups resulting in 322 apprehensions.

The distinguished students received a $1,500 scholarship towards post-secondary education. The scholarships are possible through the partnership and generosity of several RGV businesses, including RGV Partnership Foundation, International Bank of Commerce (IBC), Region One Education Service Center, RGV Buick GMC Dealers, and the Shah Eye Center. 

“I was surprised when I heard my name called,” he said. “I am appreciative of the award. We, as instructors, teach the students our knowledge and hope they grasp and elevate their potential to a higher level.”

“I made it!” and “my journey is over” were among the phrases heard by Texas State Technical College graduates at TSTC’s Spring 2022 Commencement held Tuesday, April 26, at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg.

The previous single-game attendance record is believed to be 4,900 for a game against Arizona at Jody Ramsey Stadium in 1976.

U.S. News & World Report has published the rankings of the “2022 Best Public High Schools.”  This is the eighth straight year McAllen ISD has had its high schools recognized by either U.S. News & World Report or The Washington Post.
