Originally from McAllen, Dr. Rios Tovar graduated from the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio to become a life-saver surgeon. He had the opportunity to help save several people wounded by the active shooting that took place in El Paso.

Edinburg CISD School Board raises Salaries, lowers tax rate

The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a $371 million budget for the 2019-2020 school year, raising salaries for employees and lowering the property tax rate for taxpayers within the district.

Texas Unveils New Hospital Unit for Veterans

Texas health officials announced today the creation of a 20-bed specialized care unit for Texas veterans. The first of its kind within the state, the new unit at Terrell State Hospital is designed to provide mental health services to this specific population with unique needs.
