PHARR, Texas – Traffic safety enhancements in the way of new traffic signals are planned this month for four state highway intersections, in the Valley. Three of the locations are in Hidalgo County and one is in Starr County.

| US 83 and FM 1430, Rio Grande City |
| US 83 and El Pinto Rd, Sullivan City |
| FM 493 and FM 2812, Edcouch |
| FM 1925 and Val Verde Rd., Edinburg |
Work will begin October 15, 2024. Road crews will be present Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Motorists may encounter delays at these locations and are advised to respect the work zone, obey all traffic laws, and observe all posted warning signs and speed limit signs in the area.
