McAllen ISD’s annual New Teacher Orientation will be from 7:45-11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, at De Leon Middle School (4201 N. 29th St.). The Superintendent, Dr. J.A. Gonzalez, will address the new teachers at 8:30 a.m. The event consists of training, mentoring and friendship for new teachers.
The district will welcome approximately 80 new teachers to the district. They will be teaching elementary, middle and high school and all range of subjects. Some have experience from other school districts while others are starting their career. They will have a whirlwind of training sessions to get ready for the school year which begins Monday, Aug. 27.
