PHARR, TX – The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley Board of Directors is happy to announce the appointment of Ron Meijerink as the new Chief Executive Officer. He will begin to lead the organization effective November 5, 2018.
Meijerink will become only the 3rd CEO during the Food Bank RGV’s 32-year history. He will oversee over 60 employees with a network of 275 Partner Agencies helping feed up to 64,000 people on a weekly basis in Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy counties.
“We are excited to welcome Ron to the Food Bank RGV as the new CEO,” Michelle Lea Zamora, FBRGV Board President, said. “His years of experience and commitment to helping those in need make him an ideal fit for this position at the Food Bank.”

It’s an honor to be selected and serve the people in Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy counties as the CEO for the Foodbank of the Rio Grande Valley. Together we will make a difference!”
Meijerink has extensive experience in non-profit, manufacturing, wholesale & distribution and retail management leadership. His most recent work was expanding the Goodwill brand in the Rio Grande Valley as the Director of Retail Operations for Goodwill Industries of South Texas. Meijerink was born, raised and educated in the Netherlands. He has a genuine passion for assisting people in need and feels strongly about the mission of the Food Bank RGV.
There will be a press conference announcement after Meijerink takes the reins after November 5, 2018.
