Edinburg, Texas – In the past three days, agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector have seized over $750K worth of marijuana.

On Saturday, October 26, Rio Grande City agents working near Garceno, Texas, responded to narcotics trafficking near the Rio Grande. Upon investigation, agents discovered an abandoned vehicle with 8 bundles of marijuana weighing 456 pounds with an estimated street value of over $365K. 

Monday morning, Brownsville agents attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on a silver sedan near Brownsville, Texas. Agents activated their emergency lights but the driver of the sedan failed to yield and attempted to evade apprehension. The sedan came to a stop after striking a concrete barrier, the driver absconded. Inside the sedan, agents discovered 453 pounds of marijuana worth over $362K.

Later that day, Border Patrol agents encountered several bundles of abandoned narcotics near Rio Grande City. Inside the bundles, agents discovered 33 pounds of marijuana worth over $26K.
