RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Wednesday that right side hitter Victoire Nama, who played for the volleyball team from 2019-21, is set to start her professional career with Vitrolles Sport Volley-Ball in France’s Fédération Française de Volley this season.
Located in Vitrolles, France, the team is about 469 miles south of Nama’s hometown of Paris.
During the 2020-21 season, Nama averaged a team-high 2.86 kills, 1.95 digs and 0.38 blocks in 42 sets across 13 matches. She led the team in kills seven times, blocks four times and digs once. Nama reached double-figures in kills five times and digs four times en route to four double-doubles. Nama opened her career in 2019 by earning All-WAC Freshmen honors. She averaged 2.13 kills, 0.87 digs and 0.29 blocks in 83 sets across 24 matches. Nama led the team in kills four times and blocks once. She reached double-figures in kills nine times.
