EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents arrested a Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member, a Gulf Cartel (CDG) member, a migrant with a previous conviction for murder, and another migrant previously convicted for committing a lewd act upon a child.

On Oct. 27, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended a group of 16 migrants in Hidalgo. Record checks on a Salvadoran national revealed he is a MS-13 gang member and was convicted in Palisades, New Jersey, for possession of marijuana in 2017. He was subsequently removed from the United States. 

Within the same group was a Mexican national whose record checks revealed he is a Gulf Cartel member. He was sentenced to 108 days confinement earlier this year for re-entry after deportation and was subsequently removed from the United States.

On Oct. 28, MCS agents apprehended a group of three migrants in Hidalgo. Record checks on a Mexican national revealed he was previously convicted of murder in Dallas in 1998. He was subsequently removed from the United States. 

Also on Oct. 28, Falfurrias Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of five migrants near Encino. Record checks on, Jose Alfredo Nunez-Izaguirre, a Honduran national, revealed he was convicted of lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14 in California and was sentenced to five years confinement. He was subsequently removed from the United States. 

All subjects were processed accordingly.
