Mike Blum, partner and managing broker at NAI RGV continues to run the sales tax numbers. Following up on his email sent yesterday, Mike gathered data about each city in Hidalgo County which is reflected in the table below. Clearly McAllen has held its own in total collection as has Edinburg and numerous other cities.

The chart below show the % of  total sales tax collected in each city for the May reporting period.  This table and chart will likely have dramatic shift in the next several reporting periods, as the impact of COVID19 become more profound.  He said, “The good news, we hope, is that storeswill be opening up, and we will return to some new kind of normal in the coming months.”
