Mario Carretero and his wife San Juana are the proud owners and operators of Moon Jump City. This is a unique business that provides the rental of a variety of products for children’s celebrations.
It has been about five months since they opened and they’ve been busy every weekend. Mario said, “We enjoy when people call at all hours of the day inquiring about our products.”
Moon Jump City is moon jumps, water slides, and popcorn machines. San Juana said, “We also have ‘raspas’ (snow cone) and candy machines.”
What about piñatas? Mario said, “Not yet. Maybe in the future we’ll be bringing in candy from Mexico but we are trying to establish a direct line between a corporation from Mexico to be able to bring candies directly to our company.”
Aside from providing these services, they also do decorations for the celebration and for that San Juana has a special talent that she discovered when she was still in school.
San Juana said, “My husband was the one who dreamed up the idea to open Moon Jump City, and I like the decoration part as well because I enjoy art.”
Mario said, “With this dream we are trying to expand to other areas, renting moon jumps and party stuff; it’s what we like.” He added, “The decoration part, it’s something that she’s exploring into again. God knows where it’s going to go but we are hoping, we are shooting for something huge and you know maybe a lot more doors will open as we continue our business.
Mario and San Juana have been together approximately five years and between them have seven children.
According to Mario, the immediate future of the business is to expand Moon Jump City. He said, “As soon as we get the opportunity we will plan the second phase of expansion.”
Both were in agreement from the start, the business has been successful. He said, “We rent everything, every single weekend. It hasn’t stopped, and in between on weekdays they are always calling us all the time.”
San Juana said that even when the store is closed people call their business inquiring about the services. “They call us anyway and it’s good because we like it. We like to get positive feedback from people. Customers will call and ask, “Hey, do you have this moon jump?” Even if I don’t have it, I still feel excited because people are calling and are recognizing our business.”
“Our plan is to expand the business and eventually be in every single town here in the Valley. We want to expand to three or four stores and we are hoping to be huge.”
For Mario and San Juana, the positive feed back from their customers is of great satisfaction to them. Mario continued to say, “Just to hear the nice comments makes our day.”
Both dedicate themselves to the business and because of that sometimes there are sacrifices they have to make; Mario and San Juana just keep looking to the future.
