“Our country is facing uncertain times.  Our district is ready for a new generation of Republicans to step up and connect with different parts of our district.  I want to be a breath of fresh air to local Republicans who are ready to push our values forward. I’m a working mom, business owner and job creator. I have the background that many people across this district can relate to.  I have unique life and business experience with a vision to move South Texas forward.”

“ I love God, our Country, Texas and our community.  I have served in several capacities within the community and will work hard to do so on a national level. I feel a personal responsibility to stand up and fight for what I believe in.

I believe that by supporting and strengthening family values, we will combat issues such as gun violence, abortion and drug abuse.  Being a Hispanic that was raised and now lives on the Border, I see both the opportunity of the American Dream and the hardship of a failed immigration system.  When we reform our immigration system to make it easier to come in the U.S the right way than the wrong way, we all win.  I want to help welcome legal immigrants to our beautiful country and protect our communities at the same time.  As a small business and private property owner, I will protect what we have worked so hard to earn.”

Monica De La Cruz-Hernandez attended La Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico for Spanish language studies and graduated with a business degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She previously worked for Turner Entertainment at TNT and Cartoon Network Latin America, before returning to South Texas in 2001. Monica currently lives in Edinburg with her husband, Johnny, and children.  Please visitwww.monicaforcongress.us for more information about the Monica De La Cruz-Hernandez’s campaign.
