The historic winter freeze in February has added a need for more brush disposal. To assist residents, the City of Mission is opening up the landfill area on 1400 S. Conway (by the hike & bike trail) and citizens will be allowed to self-dispose of their brush free of charge. The program runs until further notice.

Guidelines:

  • Residents can self-dispose of their brush at the City of Mission drop off area. It will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Brush items include: Trees, limbs, bushes, palm fronds and other foliage damaged by the winter storm.
  • Residents are asked to unload their own brush
  • Mission residents only
  • Contractors not allowed

“Cleaning up after a weather event is a critical part of the City’s recovery, so we are opening up more options to help our residents clear up the dry brush left behind by the storm,” Mayor Dr. Armando O’Caña said. “The City Council and I understand the hardships that have been placed on our residents due to the historic winter storm. Continuing to work together to meet these challenges is how we will recover.”
