Texas Border Business
The Mission High School High Flyer Officers traveled to San Marcos over the summer to attend the ShowMakers of America Officer Dance camp. Among the many dance classes and leadership workshops that they participated in, they were able to experience a master dance class with Melissa Miles from The Movement Talent Agency from Los Angeles, California. During this extensive 3 day camp, the officer team received the following accolades: 4 blue ribbons, 4 red ribbons and 1 Pink superior ribbon for individual dance performances. Earning Superlative Dancer medals were Jetzely Coronado and Naylea Hinojosa. Earning All-Star Dancer gold ribbons were: Jetzely Coronado, Naylea Hinojosa, and Jannelle Marroquin
As a team, they received the Sweepstakes Superior Trophy for their Home routine and Camp dance performances. They also earned a Special Recognition ribbon for their camp dance performance. As an added bonus they were awarded Best Costume for their participation in the camp theme “Let the Adventure Begin”.
The High Flyers dance and drill team traveled to San Marcos over the summer to attend the Showmakers of America Dance camp. At the end of the 3 day extensive training they received the following accolades: Sweepstakes Trophy for their camp and home routine performances, Most Disciplined Team of the Day (day 3), Most Spirited Team (as voted on by the other campers in attendance), 10 All-Star Gold Ribbon Dancers, 5 Superlative Dancer medals, 27 (individual class evaluation) blue ribbons, 13 (Camp dance individual evaluation) red ribbons, and 3 Individual camp dance Pink ribbons (for a flawless performance). They were also able to take a Master Dance Class with choreographer and dancer Sam Allen from Los Angeles, California.
The High Flyers are now preparing for upcoming performances at Mission Night Out, MCISD Back to School Bash, Meet The Eagles, and the 2019 Football Season for the Mighty Mission Eagles. They are proudly directed by Isela Gomez and Josie Flores.
