Mission CISD moves forward with plans to have epinephrine pens (EpiPens) available in additional areas on campus for students that participate in after school activities. The district will have them located next to the AED’s to allow for more accessibility. EpiPens are used to help students during severe allergic reactions known as anaphylaxis.
“We want to make sure that our staff can quickly access an EpiPen to administer in case of an emergency,” states Yeseñia Treviño, Coordinator of Health Services. “The district works diligently in assuring the campuses have access to life-saving equipment readily available for our students and staff.”
Each Mission CISD campus has these life-saving items readily available and has provided training for staff members on their use. The district prioritizes initiatives that ensure the safety and health of our students and staff.
