MISSION, TX– The Mission EDC is proud to announce the release of 5×5 Brewing Co.’s “Brunette Bombshell” beer at H-E-B stores across the Rio Grande Valley beginning next Monday, December 21. The release is made possible through an exclusive partnership with L&F Distributors.
5×5 Brewing Co. is a small business located at the Mission CEED building. Founded by George Rice, a Valley-born veteran, Matt Mazur and Matt Bowling, 5×5 Brewing Co. is one of a number of businesses the Mission EDC has supported over recent years. It is the largest distributing brewery in the area.
“We are extremely proud of the work 5×5 Brewing Co. has done to bring high-quality product to the Valley market,” said Daniel Silva, CEO of the Mission EDC. “George Rice and his crew have done an amazing job with production and we feel this is just the first step in a series of great things happening for 5×5. We are thankful to have this small business in the city of Mission.”
Brunette Bombshell, the brand’s first beer to enter the retail market, will be available at seven H-E-B stores from Mission to Port Isabel, as well as select retail chains in the area. Another 5×5 Brewing Co. beer is anticipated to follow.
“5×5 Brewing Co. is one of the city of Mission’s greatest success stories,” said Silva. “Located here at the Mission CEED, we’ve seen first-hand the incredible amount of work the team has put forth in coming up with new ideas to bring to the RGV. Now the rest of Texas will have the privilege of tasting Mission’s favorite beer.”
As a veteran-owned business, 5×5 Brewing Co. has a veteran preference hiring policy. Recently, the small business announced a Brewing Apprenticeship Program with South Texas College.
5×5 Brewing Co. operates out of the Mission CEED building, a dedicated space for technology, science and small business initiatives.
