Food Bank Fundraiser Slated for Sept. 18, 2018
Pharr, TX – The Food Bank RGV is excited to announce Michelle Lea Zamora will return as Chairwoman of Empty Bowls 2018! Also returning will be Andrea Rodriguez as Co-Chairwoman! Both have shown compassionate leadership and the experience to make the last two Empty Bowls events, the most successful fundraisers for the Food Bank RGV. Empty Bowls helps the Food Bank RGV feed up to 42,000 people weekly.
Zamora and Rodriguez have both served as chairpersons on the Empty Bowls Committees in the past 3 years. Those years have shown the most growth in fundraising, awareness and attendance.
Zamora has served on the Food Bank RGV Board for 5 years and currently serving as Board President. She has been in banking for over 18 years and is currently First Vice President – Commercial Lender at Inter National Bank (INB). She has served on several boards including the United Way of South Texas, the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity and the Risk Management Association (RMA).
Rodriguez has served on the Food Bank RGV Board for 4 years; currently serving as Board Vice-President. She is the Director of Sales & Marketing at DoubleTree Suites by Hilton McAllen with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She has served on many boards and committees including the IDEA Public Schools RGV Regional Board, City of McAllen Convention Center Advisory Board Chair, Organization of Women Executives, McAllen Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Chair, and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce Hospitality Forum Chair.
