Texas Border Business
Mission, Texas – The Mission High School (MHS) Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter has qualified 15 students for state competitions. The MHS BPA students recently competed in the Texas BPA Area 2 Region 4 competitions. Those placing high enough in their respective competitions advance from there to state.
Qualifying for state are Marcela Amaya, first place, administrative support team; Andres Cantu, fourth place, PC servicing and troubleshooting; Maielah Davis, first place, fundamentals of web design; Lisa Garza, first place, legal office procedures; Sophia Hernandez, third place, medical office procedures; David Medina, first place, C++ programming; Alyson Murillo, first place, administrative support team; Noe Pena, first place fundamental spreadsheet applications and first place administrative support team; Alfonso Ramos, first place, fundamental word processing; Ivan Reynaga, second place, database applications; Gabriel Rodriguez, second place, advanced spreadsheet applications; Ashley Romo, fourth place database applications; Jorge Salinas, second place intermediate word processing; Jose Sauceda, second place, fundamentals of web design; Ashmin Torres, first place in integrated office applications and first place in administrative support team.
Other MHS BPA students who placed well, and will serve as state alternates are Delaney Caceres, sixth place, fundamentals of web design; Zhi Huang, sixth place, administrative support team; Mikayla Trevino, third place, entrepreneurship.
The state competitions will be held in early March in Dallas, Texas.
