Mexico’s Consulate Promotes Children’s Festival

The Consulate of Mexico in McAllen and the McAllen Public Library, are pleased to inform you about the traditional celebration of “Día del Niño”, in which has organized with the collaboration of the McAllen Public Library an artistic program named Children’s Festival: “Francisco Gabilondo Soler Cri-Cri”, is this the first Festival in Spanish language in the region.

During this one day Festival, there will be various activities aimed at children and families of the Rio Grande Valley. Among them, storytellers, children’s theater, clown show, children’s book presentations, and concerts will be taking place. The festival also seeks to honor the Mexican artist (musician and composer), Francisco Gabilondo Soler, also known as Cri-Cri, and his musical legacy will be presented for the first time in the region to the new generations and the old ones will remember their childhood.

Cri-Cri created more than 300 characters, has 120 recorded songs, and sold more than 100 million records. Above all, he will be in the minds and hearts of several generations of Mexicans who appreciate and remember him with special affection.
