RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas – On March 23, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., US Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station arrested multiple individuals crossing the Rio Grande River from Mexico. Agents apprehended the individuals, and upon further investigation it was discovered that one subject was an active “Gulf cartel” and “Paisas” gang member. It was also discovered that the individual had entered illegally on a previous occasion and will therefore be charged with illegal reentry (8 USC 1326) into the United States.
