Mission, TX- She is gone, but not forgotten. A memorial service will be held Tues. Oct. 20 to honor Mission Police Department’s K9 Roxy. She passed away unexpectedly Oct. 3 from a stomach ailment and Mission police officers were there to salute her as she was escorted to the veterinary hospital.

“Roxy was a police officer just like we are. It’s important to recognize her and honor her,” Chief Robert Dominguez said. “She provided great service to the citizens of Mission in different capacities, and this will be a fitting tribute. Our thoughts and prayers are with her handler, Officer Adrian Guerra.”

K9 Roxy faithfully served the department for seven years. Police say she had outstanding tracking skills and was a valuable asset for narcotics detection.
