McAllen to Host 51st Annual Tip -o- Tex Conference

The Rio Grande Valley – Texas Association of Assessing Officers (RGV – TAAO) has selected McAllen as the host city for its 51st Annual Tip-o-Tex Conference. The three-day conference is scheduled for February 21st – 23rd 2019, and will take place at McAllen’s DoubleTree hotel.

“I am honored to be a part of this organization that provides education to all our personnel in Property Tax, Appraisal, and Delinquent Attorneys, that provide Customer Service to all our Residents in Hidalgo County,” said Immediate State Past President Pablo (Paul) Villarreal Jr., Hidalgo County Tax Assessor Collector.

TAAO is a non-profit association which has provided property tax education and networking opportunities for tax professionals throughout Texas for over 75 years. Its upcoming conference in McAllen is expected to be attended by approximately 150 local and site-wide members, generating an estimated $78,750 for local businesses.

“I am excited to be hosting this year’s 51st RGV-TAAO Tip -o- Tex Conference in the great city of McAllen,” said Kristi Torres, President of the Rio Grande Valley-TAAO Chapter. “Our chapter is a non-profit organization that unites the state’s leading ad valorem tax professionals to serve the needs of all property owners. Our members are greeted by tax professionals across the State of Texas in various tax fields who come and educate our members in their tax professions about any new laws the state has passed in regards to property tax. Every year it has grown great numbers of members in attendance and the events have always been a great success. I’m really looking forward to seeing the members from the other counties and meeting new members who have joined our organization. I welcome and invite all of you to come and see what our organization is all about. Look forward to seeing everyone!”

“We are thrilled RGV – TAAO decided to bring this legendary event back to McAllen,” added Lisa Ramirez, Sales Manager for the McAllen Chamber of Commerce’s Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Our goal is to help organizations have successful events, by making sure McAllen is a good fit and helping them create a memorable experience.”
