The McAllen Public Utility is hosting the first-ever Rio Grande Valley Utility Conference at the McAllen Convention Center, 700 Convention Center Blvd., from November 6-8, 2024, bringing together utility professionals, industry leaders, and exhibitors from across the region. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with key stakeholders, engage with industry experts, and explore the latest in utility technology and solutions. The conference, while open to the general public, is geared mainly to individuals in the potable water and wastewater treatment trade and general industry.

As we face an ever-changing landscape in utility management, from water conservation to infrastructure improvements, events like these are vital in driving progress.”
The three-day conference will feature a robust agenda, including expert-led sessions, networking opportunities, and exhibitor showcases designed to foster innovation and collaboration. The event will serve as a critical platform for addressing the utility challenges and opportunities that are shaping the future of the Rio Grande Valley.
Continuing education credits will be awarded for some of the sessions. In addition, Thursday’s lunch session features an award ceremony, recognizing leaders throughout the region for their work in advancing utility projects and outreach for their customers.
This is the first-ever utility conference to be held in the Rio Grande Valley.
“We saw the need for a utility conference in the RGV. Virtually every region in the state has a conference, except us. We want to highlight our utility industry in the RGV for both rural and municipal providers,” added Vega.
This year’s conference will focus on key issues such as water resource management, sustainability, and emerging technologies in the utility sector. Exhibitors will include leading companies showcasing the latest products and solutions to meet the evolving needs of utility providers.
